Jim Murren
Former Chairman and CEO of MGM Resorts International, Jim Murren brings a distinguished career to his current role as Chairman of the GCGRA. At MGM, where he managed a workforce of 75,000, Jim adeptly navigated the company through the 2008 financial crisis and positioned it as a leader in diversity and inclusion within the hospitality industry.
Jim has had a profound impact on the gaming and entertainment sectors, notably in spearheading the introduction of professional sports to Las Vegas. This included establishing T-Mobile Arena and partnering with the Vegas Golden Knights and Las Vegas Aces. His contributions to the industry were acknowledged with his 2023 induction into the American Gaming Association’s Hall of Fame.
Jim also serves as Chairman and CEO of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and as Co-Chairman at Cirque du Soleil. His earlier roles include Director of U.S. Equity Research for Deutsche Bank and positions on various national advisory boards. Beyond the corporate realm, Jim chaired Nevada’s COVID-19 Response, Relief, and Recovery Task Force, demonstrating his capability in managing large-scale public health initiatives with a critical understanding of asset management and security.
