Consistent with its founding Federal Law by Decree Regarding Regulating Commercial Gaming, the GCGRA is responsible for establishing the strategies, executive regulations and policies governing commercial gaming in the UAE, and determining the standards required to ensure the fairness, integrity and accountability of the industry. 

Our licensees must adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards, and comply with all the regulations and the technical standards governing gaming activities, processes, technology and game design.

Our focus is to develop and implement a progressive, focused, and innovative regulatory framework that mitigates risks and encourages socially responsible gaming behaviour, while maximising the industry’s economic contribution to the communities it serves.

The GCGRA also provides educational materials and maintains an open and transparent dialogue with licensees to ensure they possess a comprehensive understanding of their obligations and the purpose of each regulation, as well as the necessary skills and technology.

To empower consumers, we also mandate that commercial gaming operators offer tools for safer gaming experiences, such as deposit limits, cooling-off periods, self-monitoring capabilities, and options for self-exclusion.
