Licensing Process
Licensing Process
The GCGRA licensing process is outlined in clear steps, starting from application submission to final approval, ensuring applicants understand what is expected at each stage.
The GCGRA licensing process rigorously assesses businesses at the initial stage and continuously monitors them to ensure adherence to GCGRA’s regulatory requirements and technical standards, international best practices and other relevant local regulations. Our objective is to guarantee that all commercial gaming operations in the UAE are managed by competent individuals, uphold socially responsible gaming, and facilitate unlocking the economic potential of commercial gaming responsibly.
- Preliminary Steps and Screening
An applicant must first notify the GCGRA of their intention to apply by filling out an Intake Form - available on the website - naming the requested type of license(s) and providing basic information for an initial screening and assessment by the GCGRA. - Preparation and Submission
Once considered eligible to apply for a license, applicants gain access to the GCGRA licensing portal, where they can submit their full application and upload all necessary documentation. Comprehensive documentation, including business plans and compliance strategies, should be prepared thoroughly, in accordance with our guidelines. - Assessment and Evaluation
Applications undergo a rigorous suitability investigation process where we evaluate the eligibility, integrity, and operational capabilities of the applicant against our regulatory requirements and standards. - Compliance and Monitoring
Approved licensees are subject to periodic regulatory reporting and ongoing supervision activities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and standards. - Renewal and Amendments
Information on how to renew or amend existing licenses is made available, emphasizing our commitment to adaptability and responsiveness to the industry’s needs.
